Yes. There is no charge to browse the directory, contact suppliers, or post details of your event — customers never pay us anything. Whylo Events only charges suppliers who choose to pay for a listing boost or to unlock a posted job.

Yes — use Post Your Event to tell us what you need (service, area, date, budget) and approved suppliers who match will contact you directly. It's free, and you're welcome to browse the directory yourself at the same time — the two aren't exclusive.

After posting, check your email for a confirmation link first — your request isn't shown to suppliers until you click it, which helps keep postings genuine. Once confirmed, you'll also get a private tracking link — shown on screen and sent to your email — that shows how many suppliers have responded. No account or login needed, just bookmark the link and check back any time.

Each supplier's profile shows their contact details. Get in touch directly by email or phone to check availability and agree pricing — Whylo Events is not involved in that conversation or in any booking.

Supplier profiles, including experience, insurance and qualifications, are self-declared and not independently verified by Whylo Events. We'd always recommend checking insurance or asking for references before booking. The one exception is the "ID Verified" badge — a supplier who's chosen to upload a photo ID has had that checked by us to confirm they're a genuine business, though this doesn't verify anything else on their profile.

Any booking is a direct arrangement between you and the supplier. Whylo Events is not a party to that arrangement and cannot mediate on the outcome of a booking.

Apply via the Become a Supplier page. Once approved, you can build your profile with photos, pricing and the areas you cover.

No — you can be approved and listed on Whylo Events without uploading any ID. If you'd like the extra trust of an "ID Verified" badge on your listing, you can optionally upload a photo of a driving licence or passport from your supplier dashboard — we'll check it and add the badge once we have. It's kept completely private, only used to confirm you're a genuine business, and deleted once we've reviewed it.

No — listing is completely free, with no card required to apply. Your profile goes live in the directory, visible to customers searching by service and area, with your contact details shown so customers can reach you directly — no commission on any booking. If you want more visibility, you can optionally pay to boost your listing to the top of your category, and you get 3 free credits to try responding to posted jobs — both entirely optional and managed from your supplier login.

From your supplier login you can choose to pay £9/month to move your listing to the top of your category for more visibility, and be prioritised when we recommend suppliers to customers. As part of this, you also get 20 job-lead credits the moment your boost starts, plus another 20 every month for as long as it stays active — on top of any credits you've bought or already have. It's completely optional — your standard listing stays free and live either way — and you can cancel the boost at any time from your supplier dashboard.

Customers can post details of their event on Whylo Events instead of (or as well as) browsing the directory. Approved suppliers see these job posts in their category and area, and can spend a credit to unlock the customer's contact details and get in touch directly. Every supplier gets 3 free credits to try it. After that, credits cost £4.99 for a pack of 10 — one credit unlocks one job's contact details. If you're on the £9/month boost, you get 20 credits free when you start, and another 20 every month automatically for as long as you stay boosted. Credits don't expire, whichever way you get them.

Every posted job requires the customer to confirm their email address before it's shown to any supplier — this alone filters out most bots and casual pranks, since it needs a real, reachable inbox. We also run automated bot-detection on the posting form itself. No system can guarantee every lead is genuine, so if you unlock a lead in good faith and it turns out to be fake, contact us at contact@whyloevents.co.uk and we'll refund the credit — no argument.

It's a public page showing confirmed job postings — category, area, event type, date and budget — visible to anyone, logged in or not, as a way to show real demand before you commit to joining. It never shows the customer's name, contact details, or message. If you're logged in as an approved supplier, jobs matching your category show an unlock button right there, so you can spend a credit and respond without needing to visit your dashboard separately.

No. Whylo Events takes no commission or referral fee on bookings. Listing is free, and job-lead credits only ever cost what's shown at the time of purchase — there's no cut taken from any booking you go on to make.
